MATT Jansen certainly showed Wrexham's fans why Dean Saunders rates him so highly on his debut at Woking.
Although he hasn't played a competitive game since 2006, a fact which meant he had no chance of finishing this match, he showed plenty before he was removed to suggest he could be a real asset in the run-in, so how was it for him?
"It was hard, really hard!" he said.
"After the warm-up I felt really heavy. I had an energy drink and felt slightly better, and the Gaffer said, 'Just try to give me forty-five minutes.'
"So I got through the first half and at the break he said, 'Can you give me another ten?'
"I gave it a go, and was counting the minutes, thinking 'He's just stitched me up here!'
"But my legs were very heavy, which is understandable after two and a half years without playing or getting match fit."
How is Matt enjoying his sudden introduction into the Blue Square Premier.
"The Gaffer's asked me if I can come in and help him out, and play as much as I can. But it's going to take a few games before I can find my feet," he said.
"My brain knows what it wants to do but my legs aren't quite up to speed with my brain at the minute. It'll take a few games and a few weeks' training.
"I was quite pleased with my performance but it's all about fitness for me really. I need game after game and then hopefully my fitness will come."
How did Matt enjoy his partnership with Jefferson Louis, which seemed to get off to a good start?
"At times I thought Jeff and I were able to link up well," he said.
"We got the ball down well and linked up a few times. He's got some great attributes and if he believes in himself a bit more, he could be a great player.
"I'll have to see how I feel for next Tuesday. We'll see if I can get into the ice bath and recover quite quickly.
"Maybe it will have to be a cameo appearance coming off the bench, I don't know, I'll leave it to the Gaffer.
"I don't want to injure myself by overdoing it, as I said, I've been out for two and a half years and if I try to play in every game I'm going to struggle."
Could and should this have been a win at Woking?
"We're disappointed we didn't get all three points as pushing for promotion we need all three," he said.
"Although I suppose coming away from home you can't be too unhappy with a point."
