OBI Anoruo enjoyed another good day at the office against Mansfield Town, slotting home his second goal in three days and picking up the sponsors' Man of the Match award in the process.
"I'm pleased with the result and my performance. I think I did well and the goal was a pleasing point, plus we won, which is another positive, so it was a good day all round!
"It was pleasing that the referee gave it, as I didn't think he was going to at first. I just said give me the ball and I'll put it away, and that's what I did.
"I usually got to the keeper's left, but this time I went to his right and it went in!
"I knew I was going to score because sometimes I make it obvious I'm going to the keeper's left, but not today!
"Everyone said give it to Crofty, but he said 'It's up to you: if you want it, take it.'
"I've scored a few, but I've missed more than I've scored!
"It was still a bit edgy, even at 2-0. The third goal was vital but we didn't get it and that why we had to grind them down at the end of the game.
"It's another win and we didn't concede either, which is another pleasing point.
"Hopefully, we've still got a chance of getting into the play-offs. The teams above us have a lot of games playing against each other, and if they slip up we might be able to take advantage.
"I was offered my professional contract yesterday, and then I've got a goal today, which is very pleasing! It's a standard one-year contract, and I'm pleased that I've earned it after my two years on the YTS.
"Hopefully, I'll be here in the long term, as the Gaffer says if I keep working hard he'll keep me on.
"Add the goal on Thursday and it's been a good April already! It was a bit of a weight off my shoulders to score against Barrow, and to get one again today was great!
"Hopefully, I'll get a couple more by the end of the season!"
So what of that Man of the Match award?
"The champagne will go to my Nan and Granddad! They'll be so happy!
"They were celebrating the news yesterday when I got my pro contract, but we didn't have any champagne!
"Well, I've got some now!"
