NEWS from the Council Chambers is that planning permission has been granted for the Wrexham Village scheme development at the Racecourse Ground.

The Council has considered the club's plans for some time now and after their officials came out and backed the development, the planning committee met tonight and voted 10-6 in favour of granting full planning permission.

It is hoped to begin work within a few months, to enable the first phase of the student accommodation to be completed in time for the start of the 2010/11 university year.
