A pleasing feature of the goalless draw with Histon was the performance of Manny Assoumani, who on his debut showed impressive strength and compsure at the back.
"I enjoyed my first game for Wrexham! There was a good atmosphere, we played well and I thought we should have won, but we weren't able to score. I thought it was okay for a first game.
"Aurelien and I worked well together at the back. We've lived together for two months now so we have good communication. We both speak French so it's no problem!
"I think we were playing together because we are both strong in the air and we had to deal with the big strikers of Histon and the long balls they hit at them. We did our best!
"I was hoping to get a chance in the team as soon as I could. I needed to play some games, and if I could get an opportunity I would try my best to take it. It was a special kind of game against Histon, and that is why the manager picked the team that he did. I must wait and see if I get any further chances.
"I've never played against a team that play that way before, but the manager and Brian and Terry had to prepare us for this kind of game, so we were ready. That's football! They're allowed to do it!
Gunnar Neilsen made a terrific save half way through the second half to ensure the clean sheet was kept, and Assoumani was impressed by the Faroese keeper.
"He's a good goalkeeper. In the game last Saturday he made a very good save as well.
"It's very important not to concede. That's the most important thing about the game. We didn't concede any goals, and that's good for the confidence. Now we must make sure that we carry on doing this in the future.
So what of the future?
"At the moment I'm here, Wrexham have given me a chance, and that's important for me. I hope to stay, but let's see what happens at the end of the season."
