THERE was mixed news for the Williams family today as both brothers battle against their own injury.

Striker Marc was disappointed to hear that following a consultation with a specialist, he will have to wear his protective boot for a further month, after an operation when he a broke metatarsal bone against Salisbury six weeks ago.

"I was hoping that the boot could be removed," said the Wales U21 international.

"Hopefully, it's nothing more than a minor setback, but I really frustrated that I can't move onto the next stage of my rehabilitation."

Meanwhile, it was better news for centre half Mike, as results from a scan on his knee problem has shown nothing worse than soft tissue damage.

"It's good news and while it will take a little time to get over, at least I seem to have avoided the need for an operation," he said.

Goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen had his operation on Wednesday and now faces 6-8 weeks recovery after damaging his hand during last weekend's visit to Oxford United.

Not that it's the last we have seen of the Faroese international.

"I'll be at the Weymouth game next week," he said.

"For me this injury has been a real shame, as I was just starting to get into it and enjoying my time with Wrexham."
