AT least there was some good news for the Youth team this afternoon, when the result of today's Burnley v Shrewsbury Town fixture filtered through.

As the Clarets were held to a 2-2 draw at home by the Shrews.

This now means that Burnley are 8 points behind us in the race for the Puma Youth Alliance (North West Conference) title, but they only have three games left to go in their campaign.

Our Youth team signed off with a rousing 3-0 victory over bottom side Accrington Stanley last Saturday, but now have to wait for Burnley to complete their delayed season over the coming two weeks.

Today's result does though mean that the Championship side will need to beat Oldham Athletic (twice) and Preston North End to pip our boys to the silverware!

Their next game is this coming weekend at home to Oldham, before they play their return with the Latics and then go North End over the Bank Holiday weekend.
