THE club is delighted to announce that the first of our pre-season friendlies will be at the Racecourse against Championship side Coventry City.

This game will take place on Saturday, 11 July - with a 3.00pm kick-off.

City finished 17 in the Championship last term, but they did enjoy a lengthy FA Cup run, knocking out Blackburn Rovers after a replay before losing to Chelsea at The Ricoh.

In another tremendous gesture, Coventry have agreed to donate their usual percentage of any profit from the match towards our Centre of Excellence, which continues to turn out players for the Welsh set-up, despite a cut in available funding following our relegation from The Football League last summer.

It was in November 2006 that former Wrexham keeper Andy Dibble joined their coaching staff, before heading onto Peterborough United, while Andy O'Boyle left the Racecourse earlier this year to switch to Coventry.

The Welsh connection with the Sky Blues continues as their manager is Chris Coleman, a former international team mate of our own Dean Saunders.

We hope to have news of other friendly matches in the coming days.
