Youth Players On Premieship's Hit List
WHILE we are still playing a waiting game as far as first team signings are concerned, with manager Dean Saunders busy working behind the scenes to line-up to players he is after - activity is strong at a much lower level!
We have recently received offers from three Premiership clubs for players in our Centre of Excellence system.
While the club is currently considering these offers, it does show the respect that our Youth teams are held in, with the depth and success that we have enjoyed at all age groups in recent years.
One of the players has attracted a deal which will involved a six-figure sum and while the others are lower in terms of initial deals, there will be significant add-ons for the club if the players prove to have successful careers.
We are reluctant to sell, but don't want to stand in the way of the players further development at the highest possible level in the game.
The funds that these sales will bring into the club will also help make up for the loss of funding we have suffered since leaving the Football League and thus enable us to continue with our outstanding operations at Colliers Park.
Once these deals are completed, then we will reveal more details in the coming weeks.
