THE Club did pick up one award at this evening's Football Conference AGM dinner held at Stratford-upon-Avon, when the matchday programme was recognised as the best amongst the 68 Blue Square sides.

All clubs in the competition get a vote and after years of awards in The Football League, our programme team has done it again in our new surroundings of The Conference.

Lead by editor David Roberts, his army of contributors make sure that the monster 68-page production is one which the club can be rightly proud of.

The quality of the articles simpy reflects the feeling that everyone involved in the putting the issue together has for the club - and we shouldn't forget the excellent photographs that bring the pages to life.

Even though we now live in the age of IT, it will still probably surprise supporters to know that while the programme is collated in Wrexham, it is designed and typeset near Stevenage, and then printed in Manchester!

The articles also come from a wide area, with writers based in places like Dublin, Cardiff, Bangor, Holyhead, Leicester and deepest Shropshire...

It's only fair that all our contributors should be acknowledged:

Phil Jones, Martin Astley, Colm O'Callaghan, Gareth M Davies, Paul Davies, Chris Faulkner, Mark Griffiths, Ian Gwyn Hughes, David James, Peter Jones, Rob Manchester, Paul Sleeman, Bryan Still, Mark Thompson and Shaun Williams.

And where would we be without Les "The Lens" Evans?

Our grateful thanks go to Scott and Paul at Alchemy Creations and all the gang at Engraving Services.

Just like the players on the pitch, it's all about team work and everyone more than plays their part.

There had a few close shaves this season, but week-in and week-out the programme has never let us down - congratulations to one and all.

Setanta Sports were on hand to record the Conference Dinner and they will be broadcasting a highlights show next week, so watch out!
