FOLLOWING a vote by the Football League clubs, our reserve side has been accepted back into the Central League - now called the Totesport.com League.

A couple of vacancies in the West Division allowed both Oldham Athletic and ourselves to rejoin, with Burnley stepping up to the Premier Reserve League and Bury deciding to withdraw their team.

We have yet to make a decision on where the reserves will be based in 2009/10, but that should be finalised fairly quickly now we know we have been allowed back in.

All three northern divisions on the Totesport.com League will have 10 teams in the forthcoming campaign, with the likes of Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Derby County and West Bromwich Albion swelling the ranks.

Which means a very respectable fixture list of 18 league games, spread over a season that will kick-off in the week commencing 24 August.
