WREXHAM FC players will be digging deep for small change, to make a big difference to the fight against cancer in Wales.
The football club has pledged its support to Cancer Research Wales' 'Small Change, Big Difference' campaign, encouraging everyone in Wales to collect their small change in specially designed collection boxes.
Wrexham players Tom Kearney, Wes Baynes, and Johnny Hunt were on hand this week to launch the boxes, and show their support for the charity, which funds vital and pioneering research projects across Wales.
The charity is giving away thousands of the fold-out cardboard boxes, to encourage the people of Wales to collect their small change at home or at work to donate to the charity.
Liz Andrews, Deputy Charity Director at Cancer Research Wales said: "We understand that the recession means many of our supporters might be struggling financially, and the Small Change, Big Difference Campaign shows that people can support Cancer Research Wales without having to break the bank.
"If everyone in Wales collects even the smallest amount of spare change, it really will make a huge difference to the fight against cancer. All the money stays in Wales to fund cutting edge research into cancer and its treatments."
Geraint Parry, Wrexham FC Secretary said: "We're delighted to be supporting the Small Change, Big Difference Campaign with Cancer Research Wales.
"Cancer sadly touches everyone's lives, but by donating a small amount everyone can play a part in fighting it here in Wales."
