Young Guns In Sweden

Posted on: Thu 02 Jul 2009

BRIAN Flynn has included Wrexham's Leon Clowes in his squad for an invitation tournament in Sweden during July. The tournament is for Under 18 sides, but Wales will send an Under 17 squad in preparation for the forthcoming UEFA qualifiers.

Just starting out as a second-year scholar with the club, Leon was an important member of our Youth Alliance winning team last season, playing alongside Kai Edwards at the heart of defence.

Also named is Rushden & Diamonds youth player Aynsley McDonald, while the rest of the party are almost exclusively from Premiership and Championship clubs.
