THE players headed south this afternoon to the hotel in Sussex, ready for tomorrow's game Crawley Town at the Broadfield Stadium.
One name missing from the roll call was that of Silvio Spann, who is already at the hotel catching up on his jet lag after flying back in from the Caribbean this morning.
Silvio was part of the Trinidad & Tobago side that defeated El Salvador on Wednesday evening in Port of Spain. He flew back to Gatwick overnight and then took a short taxi ride to the hotel.
If the Soca Warrior is still struggling tomorrow, then Curtis Obeng has enjoyed two full days of training and was included in the party that left the Racecourse today.
No further injury worries were reported after last weekend's success against Eastbourne Borough or the midweek internationals.
Indeed, the outing for Marc Williams, who helped lead the line in Wales' 4-1 success over Hungary, will only have
The person who seems to have been affected the most by their travels was manager Dean Saunders, who flew back with the Wales team from Montenegro on Wednesday night and after landing in the early hours drove back to North Wales.
He got to bed at six in the morning, but was still back at Colliers Park by 11 o'clock preparing to take the players for an afternoon training session!
Meanwhile it was a rude awakening for Crawley last Saturday as they crashed 4-1 at Mansfield Town, but stung by the criticism after that result they bounced back overwhelm Forest Green Rovers 3-0 at home on Tuesday.
They should have won by a greater margin as they bounced back from their opening-day mauling, producing some attractive attacking football in the process.
Assistant Manager Paul Rayner said: "We were disappointing on Saturday but the response was magnificent. We have just started our season - that was a lot more like it from us.
"Thomas Pinault came back and added some steel to the creativity he has and I thought Jamie Cook and Charlie Ademeno up front showed what a good pair they can be.
"They were quick, lively and clever and if you add the creativity of Lewis Killeen and Ben Smith it gives us a lot of options."
Former Wrexham striker Jefferson Louis was dropped to the bench on Tuesday evening, only appearing as a very substitute with the game already won.
Crawley will give a late fitness test to centre-back Adam Quinn (calf), while full-back Glenn Wilson (hamstring), midfielder Thomas Pinault (Achilles) and Ben Smith (groin) are also doubts for tomorrow.
Crawley v FGR: Rayner; Rusk, Giles, Broadhurst, Rents; Smith (Malcolm 75), Pinault (Forrest 90), Hutchinson, Killeen; Cook (Louis 87), Ademeno 7.
Subs: Jordan, Powell.
