Dean: We Didn't Play Enough Football

Posted on: Sun 16 Aug 2009

IT was a down trodden Dean Saunders that faced the press following today's defeat at Crawley Town.

"I'm really disappointed with our display today as over the game we just didn't express ourselves," he said.

"We started well enough, should have had a penalty in the first minute and a couple of efforts shortly after that.

"They got back into the game, turned it a bit scrappy and we ended up hitting too many long balls.

"We just didn't play enough football or have enough efforts on goal.

"If you count up the chances we had, it wasn't many and we have to do better than that.

"We were giving away needless free kicks around our box and at the other end we didn't make their keeper work.

"After the way we have been playing through pre-season, that was the first day you thought, it wasn't going to be!"
