Rovers Look For Some Home Comforts
FOREST GREEN aim to end a run of five straight league defeats at home to Dean Saunders' Wrexham this afternoon.
Caretaker boss David Brown has been boosted on the injury front with Andy Taylor (hip), Lee Ayres (groin) Jonathan Smith (knee) and Curtis McDonald (ankle) all poised to return.
Meanwhile, Brown has refused to comment on whether he will be applying for the permanent manager's job at Forest Green, but the 30-year-old stated management could be a natural progression.
He faces his sixth competitive match as caretaker boss against Wrexham and is fully aware that CVs are stacking up on chairman Trevor Horsley's desk following the departure of Jim Harvey.
Ex-captain Chris Honor and Harvey's former assistant Jerry Gill have both gone public with their interest in the post, while Leroy Rosenior, Keith Downing and David Mehew have been touted as possible contenders.
But Brown, who has been allowed to bring in an experienced right-hand man in Colin Walker, is more interested in trying to secure Rovers' first point of a chaotic season.
He said: "I prefer to keep certain things private and my attitude hasn't changed - I'll do the job for as long as the chairman wants.
"One thing I will say is I've enjoyed every aspect of the job, apart from the results so far. I know I'm only 30 but for the past couple of months I've felt management could be a natural progression for me.
"That's not me throwing my hat into the ring or vice-versa, it's just the way I feel."
Brown would strengthen his case enormously by arresting a run of five straight league defeats - seven if last season is taken into account - against the Dragons.
And his luck would appear to be turning on the injury front, with Andy Taylor (hip), Lee Ayres (groin), Jonathan Smith (knee) and Curtis McDonald (ankle) all poised to return.
One player who will not be involved is 20-year-old defender James Baldwin, who has joined Blue Square North outfit Gloucester City in search of regular football.

Visiting supporters will be very welcome in the Green Man, where they can once again enjoy the home cooked food on offer plus, of course, a pint of this week's guest ale - Jennings Fish King (ABV 4.3%).
After the very sad loss of Supporters Club Chairman Brian Fream last Saturday, the Club have announced that there will be one minute's applause in his memory ahead of kick off.
