OXFORD'S first win at The Racecourse, after twelve attempts stretched over forty-five years, was certainly memorable, if not for the right reasons.
As a catalogue of bizarre incidents disfigured the game it even became hard to follow for those in the thick of it, as Andy Fleming attests.
"It got a bit crazy in the last fifteen minutes. It got a bit open and we started getting a little desperate because we had a man sent off, which was a debatable decision," said the midfielder.
"It was an incident on our left wing: their player got played in and I thought the ref was going to blow for a foul for us but there was a challenge, then a scuffle with Frank and the linesman called the ref, who didn't see it, and he sent him off. It was all very confused!
"It got a bit confused because Frank got sent off and we pushed Mani up front. There was a bit of a hole at the back and I filled in!
"It was disappointing - it always is when you lose, of course. Taking into account the chances that we had, we could've won the game or, at worst, got a draw out of it.
"It's a shame there's no midweek game, so we can get out there and put it right.
"We need to get our heads up and try to start getting results."
