FOLLOWING a 3.00pm pitch inspection this afternoon, our Monday visit to Gateshead has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Officials at the stadium said that even the running track round the football pitch was iced up.

Most of the pitch was still solid, but where the snow had melted they were having trouble with waterlogging - and these areas were only going to freeze again overnight.

With no significant increase in temperatures due, it was the sensible decision to call the fixture off now.
