WE will try again with our visit to Gateshead in two week's time, when heading for Tyneside on Tuesday, 12 January - 7.45pm.

This is our only free midweek until the latter part of February, but it also dependent on them not needing to play an FA Trophy match that midweek - they are due to face Southern League Chippenham Town at home on the previous Saturday.

We have a free date on 9 January, but all our potential opponents are still involved with the FA Trophy, bar Mansfield Town, who had already re-arranged a game for that date, before our pre-Christmas clash was hit by the freezing weather.

Our other outstanding match, at home to Altrincham, has still to be given a new date, but they already have a game arranged for 12 January.

With Oxford United still in the Trophy and having a home tie with Woking, were they to progress further, then our visit to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, 30 January, would also have to be re-arranged.

So while we currently have a number of free midweeks in both March and April, it won't take many more postponements to give us a real headache later in the season.

Let's hope that our visit to Altrincham on New Year's Day survives the latest front of bad weather.
