Wimbledon OFF!

Posted on: Mon 21 Feb 2011

4.45pm - GAME POSTPONED!

The referee took less than 30 seconds to agree with club officials that the pitch was unplayable and called off our visit to Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

Our thanks to the staff at Kingsmeadow for keeping us informed all day and for asking for an early pitch inspection, which will at least save everyone a few problems tomorrow.

No new date yet and we are still in talks with Altrincham over our two outstanding fixtures, their game with York City is also off tomorrow.

When the dust settles, we hope have new dates later in the week, but we are looking at the end of February and into March.

2.40pm - AFC Wimbledon have requested a pitch inspection late this afternoon.

A local referee will call in at Kingsmeadow as soon as he can, but it's likely to be after 5pm.

Their U18s game this evening has also been frozen off.

More news when we get it from down south...

OUR trip to AFC Wimbledon is obviously in some doubt due to the low temperatures being experienced throughout the UK at present.

Officials at Kingsmeadow have been in contact with the Football Conference, as well as the match officials this morning, as they continue to monitor conditions throughout the day.

Obviously, as and when we have any further news, then it will be updated on the website and sent out via Wrexham SMS.
