WREXHAM make the short trip across to Altrincham on Saturday likely to still be missing striker Gareth Taylor, who is showing signs of improvement over his ankle injury, but maybe not quick enough for this weekend.
The former Wales international received a kick during last Saturday's win over AFC Wimbledon, in which his scored the only goal, and despite struggling on during that match, was forced to make way late in the game.
"I'm desperate to get back in the action," said Gareth. "But the ankle still not right.
"It's certainly frustrated, especially with Andy Mangan having just arrived at the club.
"It would be nice to see if we could get a partnership going, but that might have to wait a few more days."
Another blow followed when fellow forward Marc Williams appeared on crutches, after twisting his ankle during a 3-0 practice match victory against Crewe Alexandra on Wednesday afternoon.
Having returned from an injury picked up at Altrincham in mid-December, Marc was getting back up to speed and even scored a nice goal against the Alex, skipping round the keeper before firing into an empty net.
"I can't believe my luck at the moment," said the U21 international.
"I've literally never been injured before in my career and then this happens.
"From a personal point of view, while the previous injury took a month to clear up, I hadn't missed a game because of the poor weather.
"Now I'm getting my match fitness back and then I go over on my ankle.
"Hopefully, it's not too bad and will only be a week or so."
It will be interesting to see what formation Dean Saunders selects at Moss Lane tomorrow, especially after switching things round at half time during the 0-0 draw at Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday evening.
"We head to Altrincham full of confidence after this week's games and results," he said.
"If we could finally beat them on Saturday that would give us seven points for the week and some momentum, as we head into a very busy last three months of the season."
