FOLLOWING a turnout of about 25 supporters, we have cleared the snow off the pitch before it melted and flooded the surface.

Obviously the pitch is still very wet, with the volunteers turning their attention to forking the water away.

Local Football League/Conference assesor John Lloyd walked the pitch at 12.30pm and in his opinion we have a chance of getting tonight's match one with Mansfield Town.

The final decision though belongs to the match referee and he is based in north Yorkshire, but is currently heading over to the Racecourse.

He hopes to be here at about 5.45pm, but with everyone working hard on the surface we are keeping our fingers crossed.

If anyone has a spare fork, then we would be glad to see them this afternoon.
