Brownie Bids Farewell To The Racecourse

Posted on: Thu 11 Mar 2010

FORWARD Simon Brown has agreed to have his contract with the club terminated with immediate effect.

The former Mansfield Town man has not featured under Dean Saunders this season, although has had on a two-month loan spell with Tamworth.

"I have enjoyed my time at Wrexham and I'm just sorry that things haven't worked out better for everyone," said Simon.

"I think it's best for all concerned if I cut my ties now and see if I can find a team to join for the rest of the season.

"It's purely about being able to play games and I hope that I'll be able to get a few matches under my belt before the season ends."

Signed by Brian Little in the summer of 2008, he started the campaign as a regular, but following the chance of manager in that October he found playing time limited.

A loan spell at Rushden & Diamonds was followed by an extended stay at York City with Martin Foyle.

The club would like to thank Simon for his efforts over the last two seasons and we all wish him well for the future.
