After another shut-out at Grays Athletic, Aaron Brown was happy to reflect on the solid defensive unit he's an integral part of.
"In the five games I've played we've kept four clean sheets, which I'm naturally really happy with. Obviously it's a collective effort and down to the team. It's nice to come into a team that's doing well."
The 2-0 win ultimately looked comfortable, but Brown afforded a good deal to respect to the relegated opposition.
"We knew it wouldn't be an easy game, as the pitch wasn't the best, but we managed to get a goal through Ashley Westwood and then defended well through the rest of the game.
"I certainly thought it was Ashley's goal, although Mangy's claiming it came off one of his hairs! We'll have to see what happens!
"It's a difficult time for Grays, but we knew they would come out fighting. They're fighting for their futures and so are we, with so many contracts up in the Summer. We needed to put in a professional performance, and I thought we did that in the second half.
"We weren't able to get the ball down and pass it around as we'd have liked to in the second half, but I thought we did quite well considering the condition of the pitch today."
