SO what was the outstanding moment of the Barrow match? The obvious candidate is Marvin Andrews' incredible moment of magic on the wing to set up the last-gasp equaliser, but a decent case could be made for an incident halfway through the second half.

Scott Shearer's superb save from Danny Forrest's close range header not only kept Wrexham in the game, it also completed a remarkable week for the Scottish keeper, who was criticised by a group of supporters during and after the Kidderminster game on Tuesday.

The reaction of the fans in the Eric Roberts Stand behind him after that save, showed the majority's desire to get behind the players and Shearer was keen to shrug off the criticism he'd received.

"It wasn't every supporter in the ground, just a small group. You get that everywhere in football, everybody knows it. It doesn't affect most professionals, and it doesn't affect me personally. I'll use it to spur myself on now and prove people wrong.

"As for the save, that's what I'm there to do: to keep the ball out of the net and make saves. I was very glad to do it on that occasion! It just makes it even sweeter that we went on to get the point.

"I think the way we fought back just shows what we're trying to build here. There's a lot of character on the field, and to get going, refusing to give up and get the equaliser was a really good feeling.

"It was the reverse of last Tuesday night. That match felt like a defeat as we'd lost a two-goal lead; this felt very different. We've still got to do better, but it was great to get a late equaliser.

"To be fair they defended very well. They set their stall out to defend and got the early goal as well, with a bit of good fortune.

"They defended their box very well, as we got enough crosses in to win the game. Again it was just one of those days where we couldn't do enough to win the game."
