AS players return - so others drop by the wayside! Not the best of preparations for our visit to Chesterfield.
Manager Denis Smith must be pulling his hair out, for with Alex Smith, Dean Bennett and Danny Williams all available once again for league duty, he loses Chris Armstrong and Hector Sam.
On top of this captain Darren Ferguson is struggling to get over a twisted ankle following his withdrawal at Peterborough 10 days ago.
"It is very frustrating," said the boss, doing his best to hide his disappointment.
"We knew Chris was having trouble with his thigh, but Hector complained of a dead leg this morning, so he's out as well!"
Another on the injured list is midfielder Levi Mackin, who also has a sore thigh.
"Alex, Dean and Danny all came through their various midweek matches and I'm happy to see them back, but at times it feels like we are taking one step forward and then two back!" he said.
"This is another important game for us, but we will have to deal with the injury situation as best we can."
Wrexham fans will be delighted to see Danny Williams available once again and the midfielder is hoping to see action for the first time in over two months.
"It has not been the best of times," said the Wrexham born player.
"I would not wish the pain I suffered with my back on anyone, but I seem to be over the worst of it and the doctors have been pleased with my progress.
"I just want to be out there playing football and I hope I get my chance tomorrow."
Wrexham: Xavi Valero, Michael Jones, Craig Morgan, Shaun Pejic, Dennis Lawrence, Steve Roberts, Andy Holt, Jim Whitley, Alex Smith, Matt Crowell, Carlos Edwards, Danny Williams, Dean Bennett, Mark Jones, Scott Green, Chris Llewellyn, Juan Ugarte. (17)
Chesterfield have influential defender Ian Evatt available after suspension, as they look to end a run of six games without a win.
Adam Smith is struggling with a knee injury and Steve Blatherwick is not yet fully fit after an Achilles problem.
