LUTON manager Mike Newell could not hide his joy after seeing his side claim the League One title.
The Hatters will now go up into the Championship as League One champions after winning 2-1 at Wrexham.
Newell said: "It's been a fantastic season which has finished really well.
"I wasn't really happy at half-time because we weren't in the game. But the way we came out in the first five minutes of the second half showed just what we were capable of.
"I'm just glad the lads have got a medal to show for their efforts because that's the ultimate.
"Some of the lads will go on to play at higher levels but hopefully they will look at this season as one of the best they've had in football."
Wrexham manager Denis Smith could barely conceal his frustration after his relegation-threatened side slipped closer to the drop.
Smith said: "I think they bullied us in the second half and to get beaten off two set plays is disappointing.
"But I don't think we're down yet. I think what we've seen is a club (Luton) that has everything going for them. Well we haven't.
"We outplayed them in the first half but couldn't do it in the second."
