AFTER considering his options, striker Lee McEvilly has finally decide that his future career lies away from the Racecourse and turned down a two-year offer from Denis Smith to throw his lot in with Yorkshire side Bradford City.
Well remember at Valley Parade for his last minute winner as an Accrington player two years ago, he joins Colin Todd's growing list of summer signings.
Lee quickly established himself as a fans' favourite at the Racecourse Ground and will be missed after scoring 7 goals from just 15 league starts, as injury twice forced him out of the side.
This is how the Bradford City official website is reporting events:
JOHN HARTSON look-alike Lee McEvilly is set to added to Bradford City's attacking arsenal for the new season.
The 24-year old Northern Ireland international - nicknamed Evil - is the other striker Colin Todd has been tracking and is due at the club for a medical this morning.
An aggressive targetman, McEvilly is currently out of contract at Coca-Cola Football League Two side Wrexham.
Todd last week snapped up Eddie Johnson and is keen to sign one more forward before pre-season kicks off on Thursday.
And he will remember McEvilly from his last visit to the Bradford & Bingley Stadium in Accrington Stanley colours for an LDV Vans Trophy tie when the 6ft striker capped a fine performance by nodding the late winner for the visitors.
McEvilly first made his mark at Rochdale when John Hollins signed him for £20,000 from Burscough four years ago. Nicknamed Evil by Dale fans, he scored 16 goals in his first season.
He also became the first Rochdale player to be capped internationally by appearing as a substitute for Northern Ireland against Spain.
McEvilly move to Accrington, initially on loan, and again scored regularly with 17 goals from 39 starts in the Nationwide Conference, prompting Wrexham to do a £30,000 deal last summer.
Despite suffering a few niggling injuries, he netted seven times in fifteen League starts and earned a call-up from Lawrie Sanchez for Northern Ireland's tour of the United States in May - unfortunately he had to miss the trip through injury.
Wrexham were hoping that he would sign another deal at the Racecourse Ground but have faced stiff competition for his signature - with City known to be the club in pole position.
As with Johnson, Todd refused to name his other forward target for fear of losing him elsewhere.
But McEvilly's capture, coming hot on the heels of Johnson, is seen as another indication that City are determined to have a real crack at the top six this season.
With Danny Cadamarteri's future uncertain, Todd has made the forward positions his priority area. But he has also snapped up centre half Matt Clarke and midfielder Jermaine Johnson and is still looking to fill left-sided gaps in defence and on the wing.
