MATT DERBYSHIRE was amongst the goals last night as he helped himself to a hat-trick as Blackburn Reserves thrashed Tranmere 7-0 in the Pontin's Holidays League Cup at Morecambe's Christie Park.

To make matters worse for the Birkenhead side, they had midfielder Danny Harrison shown a red card on 66 minutes for his part in an incident with Derbyshire.

Joey Jones' boys travel up to Tranmere next Wednesday evening for a League game, which will be played at Vauxhall Motors FC (7.00).
