THIS afternoon's Pontin's League game against Carlisle United (2.00) has been postponed due to the weather conditions affecting the pitch at Buckley Town.

Over six inches of snow fell on the Globe during Friday and Saturday, meaning that despite the thaw we have enjoyed since, more than two-thirds of the playing surface still has a substantial covering of snow.

Even where the snow has thinned, the additional problem of flooding has reared its ugly head.

The Football League were happy to take our verdict on the surface and so stop Carlisle setting out on what would have been a wasted journey down the M6.

The two clubs are now looking at a new date for this often postponed fixture to be finally played.
