After the tense stalemate against local rivals Chester City, WREXHAM face a resurgent Grimsby Town at Blundell Park. After struggling at the bottom end of the table for most of the season, the Mariners have found a rich vein of form and have won their last three games.
After an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Torquay, Grimsby have given themselves some breathing space from the drop-zone by seeing off Boston, Bristol Rovers and Mansfield Town. They have scored 12 goals in this run, lifting themselves to 17th position in League Two.
Grimsby will again be running a special offer in an attempt to drum up as much support as possible for their fight for survival. Almost 6,000 fans watched Town beat Bristol Rovers, and 1,300 travelled to Mansfield on Saturday. The 'Be Town's 12th Man' campaign seems to be working, until Tuesday's game - hopefully!
After seven winless matches, manager Brian Carey has recruited the services of Wales' assistant manager Roy Evans in his bid to lift the club to safety. The former Liverpool manager's experience could prove to be crucial for the Dragons' final few games of the season.
The goalless draw on Sunday means Wrexham have gone four games since finding the net. The point gained however has moved them out of the relegation zone at the expense of Boston United, who went down 3-0 at home to Shrewsbury Town in their last game.
Returning for this match is midfielder Mark Jones, who has served a one-match suspension after picking up five bookings this season. He could slot into the midfield alongside stand-in captain Danny Williams, should boss Carey decide to keep faith with his defensive duo of Steve and Gareth Evans.
Last Time Out
The Dragons cruised to victory when the Mariners visited the Racecourse in our first home game of the League Two season. Bullet headers from Steve Evans and Chris Llewellyn saw the home side into a 2-0 lead at half time, and Matty Done sealed the victory midway through the second half.
