ONLY A WIN WILL DO, SAYS WREXHAM BOSS LITTLE
Richard Williams - Wrexham Evening Leader
BRIAN LITTLE knows nothing less than a victory will do against Macclesfield Town on Saturday at The Racecourse.
Wrexham boss Little is looking to keep the Reds' hopes of avoiding relegation alive by recording three points against the Silkmen.
"The last two weeks have been a blow," said Little today. "We know the situation is not good, we are not pretending it is, and we have to win.
"As every game goes by it makes it tougher if we don't win. Hopefully we can get three points and take it from there.
"We will go out trying to win and give the fans a bit of belief. We won't give in, there is too much to play for."
Wrexham have only been out of the drop zone once since October, when they beat Bury 1-0 on December 4.
And Little said playing catch-up for the majority of the season has taken its toll.
"We have been our own worst enemies most of the season," said Little. "At the moment we have just not been good enough and don't score enough goals to make teams worry about us.
Striker Marc Williams and midfielder Danny Williams, both second half substitutes in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Mansfield Town, have played themselves into contention.
Marc scored Wrexham's goal while Danny was making his first appearance since October after undergoing back surgery.
Centre-back Steve Evans and left-back Neil Taylor are both available but midfielder Jeff Whitley is struggling with a shoulder problem

Meanwhile, Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander was an interested observer at Field Mill as Mansfield beat Wrexham 2-1 on Tuesday.
Alexander said: "It would have been nice if the game had ended in a draw.
"We don't really want anyone winning games at the moment but on the night Mansfield were worthy winners."
OUR FUTURE IS AT STAKE SAYS WREXHAM'S BOLLAND
Richard Williams - Wrexham Evening Leader
PHIL BOLLAND today admitted that players' futures at Wrexham are at stake.
Rock-bottom Wrexham entertain Macclesfield Town at The Racecourse on Saturday (3pm) with plenty of ground to make up if they are going to avoid relegation.
Tuesday's defeat against fellow strugglers Mansfield means Wrexham are eight points away from safety with just seven matches remaining.
Bolland, out of contract at the end of the season, is not throwing the towel in and doesn't want to be part of a relegated team
But the centre-back accepts that players' livelihoods are on the line.
"We have all got personal pride and can't let ourselves down," said Bolland today. "No-one wants to be associated with going down. I never have been relegated and I don't want to be now.
"You realise that at the end of the season, relegation changes everything that happens at a club. Managers have to make decisions and players might be told they are surplus to requirements.
"Everyone has mortgages to pay, it is that serious. The implications are massive.
"And from a personal point of view, you want to play in the Football League for as long as you can.
"When you finish playing, you want to say you played so many league games, not that you were part of a relegated team and never came back from that.
"We have to put everything into these games and see where it takes us."
Bolland said no-one has been allowed to lose heart following Tuesday's defeat against second from bottom Mansfield Town.
With a possible 21 points to play for, Bolland stressed the importance of sticking with the teams ahead of Wrexham to give the Reds some chance of avoiding the drop ahead of the final match of the season at Lincoln City on May 3.
"It was a big blow on Tuesday but no-one's been allowed to be down and sulk around," said Bolland.
"There are some big characters at the club who won't let people sulk, and we have to keep going.
"We have got another massive game against Macclesfield and as the gaffer has said, he needs to try and win and go from there.
"There are still points to play for and we just need to try and win as many as possible.
"We don't want to be going into the last game of the season having seen other teams lose games thinking, 'if only we had won a few in the run-in'.
"We just have to win tomorrow.
"Bolland has impressed in the heart of defence since joining Wrexham from rivals Chester City in January following a trial.
But Bolland will swap mediocre performances from himself for Wrexham victories at this crucial stage of the season.
"I am enjoying it at Wrexham," added Bolland. "The biggest thing I enjoy in football is winning games.
"That's the biggest buzz and I can't believe a club like this is down at the bottom.
"Personally, I would rather play average and we win every game at this stage and stay up.
"But we won't give up."
