WREXHAM hope to move off the bottom of the League Two table as they take on fellow strugglers Lincoln City at the Racecourse on Saturday (3.00).

Defeat at Stockport County last week extended the Dragons' losing streak to six games in all competitions. Marc Williams' header from Neil Taylor's cross put Brian Carey's men in the driving seat, but County hit back just a couple of minutes later through Anthony Elding, and a second-half goal from Dominic Blizzard sealed the win.

Our visitors are having similar fortunes at present, with the Imps having lost their last four league games. Last week they went down 2-1 in a derby game against Grimsby Town, Jamie Forrester scoring the consolation goal.

Although Wrexham will be finding the bottom of League Two all too familiar after the exploits of last season, Lincoln will be feeling rather out of place. The Imps have finished in the playoff places for the last five years running, and their form will have to improve soon if they are to mount a challenge at the top end of the table.

Their start to the season could hardly have been any worse, as they were heavily beaten at home against Shrewsbury Town. Although the teams went in all square at half time, the Shrews were rampant in the second half, eventually running out 4-0 winners.

Lincoln have won two league games so far, with victories coming against Mansfield Town and Accrington Stanley.

Brian Carey has brought in a familiar face in order to aid the club's revival. Midfielder Robbie Garrett put in a string of impressive performances whilst on loan from Stoke City last season, and after struggling to break into the Championship club's first team, he has returned to the Racecourse for a second spell.

Last Time Out

Wrexham fans will hope their side can match last season's performances against Lincoln, with the Dragons doing the double over their opponents despite the obvious gulf in league position.

Wrexham won the encounter at the Racecourse thanks to goals from Mark Jones and Chris Llewellyn, with Mark Stallard getting a consolation goal in the second half.

The Dragons went one better at Sincil Bank, the 3-0 away victory aiding the fight for football league survival. Simon Spender and Lee McEvilly got on the scoresheet, with an own goal sandwiched in between.
