WREXHAM prepare for their second home game in four days as Chesterfield visit the Racecourse on Tuesday night.

Finally fans had something to cheer about as Marc Williams' second half strike gave the Dragons a much needed win against Lincoln City. Neil Roberts missed a first half penalty in the game, but Williams' moment of magic shortly after the break meant the Reds were not denied all three points.

This result lifted Brian Carey's men off the bottom of League Two, with Mansfield Town and Lincoln now occupying the bottom two.

Chesterfield currently lie in fourth position in the league table, despite having lost their last two games. On Saturday they went down 1-0 away to Notts County after creating a host of chances in the first half.

This mirrored their previous game, in which they lost 1-0 at home to Barnet. The Spireites also had enough chances to win that match, but a combination of poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping from visiting 'keeper Lee Harrison condemned them to defeat.

It is unlikely that the Spireites will continue their goal drought however with many options available to them up front. Former Nottingham Forest player Jack Lester is their main dangerman, having found the net six times in all competitions so far this season.

Lester has been supported up front by former Bournemouth striker Steve Fletcher, but after picking up a thigh strain against Notts County, he is unlikely to feature against the Dragons.

Fletcher's replacement is likely to be veteran forward Wayne Allison. If 'The Chief' plays on Tuesday night, it will be his 750th league appearance, becoming only the second striker in football league history to reach that particular milestone.

Juan hammers home his second

The clubs last met in January 2005 when Juan Ugarte stole the headlines. The Basque hitman found the net four times to help the Dragons to a 4-2 away win at Saltergate.

Earlier in the season Wrexham cruised to a 3-1 win at the Racecourse, goals from Steve Roberts, Mark Jones and Chris Llewellyn doing the damage.
