Match Preview - Barnet
Brian Carey will have to pick his side up yet again as WREXHAM take on in-form Barnet at the Racecourse this Saturday (3.00).
The Dragons seemed to be heading for their third victory in four games as goals from Michael Proctor and Chris Llewellyn saw them into a 2-0 lead away to Macclesfield Town.
After halving the deficit before half time, Macc somehow stole the points right at the end with two goals in injury time. Another blow was the sending off of Robbie Garrett, who will miss out this weekend.
Wrexham will have to find their best form to get back to winning ways, with Paul Fairclough's Barnet side full of confidence after an excellent run of results.
The Bees are unbeaten in the league since August, when they went down 2-1 to Brentford at Griffin Park. Since then they have steadily climbed the table with an eight-match unbeaten run, including impressive victories over Chesterfield and Stockport County.
Last week they were held by struggling Mansfield Town at Underhill. Simon Brown's goal put the visitors ahead, but Barnet hit back through Liam Hatch with twenty minutes remaining.
The Bees were given the opportunity to gain their sixth win in eight games as they were awarded a late penalty, but Jason Puncheon's spot kick was saved by Town's Carl Muggleton.
Midfielder Puncheon has been one of Barnet's star performers this season. The former MK Dons player has found the net six times in all competitions, just one ahead of colleague Adam Birchall.
Paul Fairclough will be without captain Ismail Yakubu for Saturday's game, after the defender picked up a groin problem. However Joe Devera and Giuliano Grazioli return to the Bees' squad.
Wrexham may have more than one new face in the side for Saturday's game. With the side still hovering around the relegation zone, Brian Carey has been looking to tap into the loan market once more in a bid to improve fortunes.
Last Time Out
Wrexham battled to a 2-1 victory at Underhill in the last game between the sides. After going behind to Oliver Allen's first half goal, the Dragons turned the game on its head as Lee McEvilly scored two within a matter of minutes.
Earlier in the season it was honours even at the Racecourse. Mark Jones put the Dragons 1-0 up, but the visitors hit back midway through the second half. A sweeping move was finished off by striker Tresor Kandol, who headed in at the far post.
Kandol's impressive performances early last season led to a £200,000 move to Leeds United in the January transfer window.
