Match Preview - MK Dons
WREXHAM face a tough test this weekend as league leaders MK Dons visit the Racecourse.
Paul Ince's side are 8 points clear of Hereford United at the top of League Two, after winning seven out of their last nine league games.
The club's excellent form in December resulted in awards for 'keeper Willy Gueret (League Two Player of the Month) and Paul Ince, who claimed the Manager of the Month award after his side claimed 16 points from a possible 18.
Last week the Dons went down 1-0 at home to Barnet, Ismail Yakubu scoring a controversial winner in the first half. Assistant referee Amy Raynor had appeared to flag for offside, but quickly changed her mind and the goal stood. Assistant boss Ray Mathias was unimpressed with their performance, describing it as 'unacceptable'.
The Dons have not found goals difficult to come by despite the sale of prolific striker Izale McLeod to Charlton in pre-season. Captain Keith Andrews has found the net an impressive 11 times so far this season from midfield. He is closely followed by Mark Wright who has scored 8 in all competitions.
Despite having some new faces in the line-up, Wrexham could not end their losing streak at Grimsby Town where they went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat last week. Paul Hall came closest to scoring for the Dragons, but his shot was kept out by Town 'keeper Phil Barnes.
The Dragons will be without Mark Jones for the visit of MK Dons, after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury at Blundell Park. Chris Llewellyn will return after serving a one-match suspension.
Last Time Out
MK Dons were the victors when the sides last met back in March. Lee McEvilly had put the Dragons ahead in the first half before Keith Andrews equalised from the spot. Clive Platt then scored a controversial winner for the home side with five minutes remaining, replays showing that the ball did not quite cross the line.
