Match Preview - Mansfield Town
WREXHAM face their biggest game of the season as Mansfield Town visit the Racecourse this Saturday (3.00pm).
Defeat against Peterborough United on Tuesday evening ended the Dragon's six-match unbeaten run, and Brian Little's men will have to recover quickly as they take on a side also fighting against relegation.
Mansfield Town ended a run of six successive home defeats as they drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Bury on Tuesday evening. Captain Jake Buxton had put the home side ahead at Field Mill, but the points were shared as Adam Rooney scored a late equaliser.
The Stags' away form has been rather better than their home form, which has seen them keep their noses in front of the Dragons at the foot of the table.
Billy Dearden's side have won their last four games on the road, with victories at Chester City, Lincoln City, Wycombe Wanderers and Darlington.
Michael Boulding has contributed more than anyone in the Stags' fight for League Two survival. The forward has settled down at Mansfield again following spells at Rotherham, Cardiff, Barnsley and Grimsby in recent years.
Boulding has weighed in with 19 goals so far this season in all competitions. He is likely to be joined up front by Jefferson Louis, who has found the net three times since his January move from Weymouth.
The Dragons need to start finding the net soon in order to climb away from the League Two relegation zone. Another blank against Posh means it is now three games since we last scored a goal - Michael Proctor was the last player to score for the Dragons, in the 2-0 win against Darlington.
Last Time Out
The teams fought out a 0-0 draw at the Racecourse, in a match of few chances. Wrexham needed a win as they looked to climb out of the drop zone - in the end a point was enough to move us ahead of Boston United on goal difference, with seven matches to play.
