TAMWORTH travel to Wrexham in buoyant mood after claiming another Conference Premier scalp on Saturday.

A Chris Smith strike secured a 1-0 win over league leaders Stevenage Borough on Saturday to add to league and cup wins against Oxford and Mansfield this season.

The Lambs also defeated Wrexham 2-1 back in August thanks to goals from skipper Smith and Jake Sheridan.

Tamworth boss Gary Mills said: "It was a magnificent win over Stevenage but just because we beat the league leaders doesn't mean we are guaranteed anything at Wrexham.

"We have to look after ourselves between now and Tuesday and we have got to go and work even harder than we did on Saturday against Wrexham.

"We will do that because the lads want to do that.

"Teams know now that when they play Tamworth, it's not going to be easy for them.

"They are going to be in a game.

"I for one am relishing the chance to play Wrexham again. I love weeks like this, playing the likes of Stevenage, Wrexham and Mansfield.

"It's why we worked so hard to get into this league."

Tamworth will be without Nick Wright tomorrow night after he suffered an ankle injury just four minutes into Saturday's win.

He could be out for six to eight weeks.

Alex Rodman is also ruled out but Richard Tait (back) and Neil MacKenzie (heel) could feature.

Tamworth produced a superb team performance to knock league leaders Stevenage off the top of the Conference Premier.

The Lambs, who dented Oxford's automatic promotion hopes with a 1-0 win at the Kassam Stadium last month, deservedly sealed victory with a first half goal from skipper Chris Smith.
