Signed from Weymouth in June 2008 after impressing for Wales in the end of season Four Nations Semi-Professional Tournament, Kyle began his career as a trainee with Southampton.
An extremely versatile player with boundless energy, Critchell enjoyed his first taste of league football with Torquay United whom he joined on loan in October 2006.
Used mainly in central midfield, he returned to St. Mary's all the wiser for this experience and in January 2007 signed for League Two side Chesterfield.
Injury curtailed his opportunities at Saltergate before family circumstances led to a move closer to his Dorset home the following summer, when he put pen to paper for Weymouth.
He made 36 Blue Square Premier appearances for the Terras last term before joining Wrexham on a two-year deal.
