Although a very promising performer with the reserve team in recent years, Andy was never really given an opportunity to show what he can do in the first team.
That seems to have changed with the arrival of Dean Saunders as manager, with the midfielder starting in the boss' first game away to Forest Green Rovers in October 2008.
A knee injury picked up in training will sideline the Scouser for several months, but he will only bounce back with added determination.
