Full back Ritchie De Laet, a 2007 summer capture from Royal Antwerp by Stoke City, is a promising young defender with bags of potential.
Joining the Potters for a fee of £100,000, the Belgian is regarded as one for the future, 20-year-old Ritchie has been looking to develop his skills and adapt to the English game with City reserves.
In July 2008, he joined Bournemouth on trial and played in a friendly against Portsmouth, but later returned to the Britannia Stadium.
During the current campaign, Ritchie has been a regular in a very strong Stoke reserve team line-up, facing the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Fulham in recent weeks.
