Joined The New Saints FC on loan from August 09 until January 10
Signed from Team Bath, where he was studying, Steve had long been looking for a second chance in the full-time game after coming through the ranks with Wigan Athletic.
It has been a long route back for the 26-year-old, who lives in Haydock, but had spent three seasons with the University side.
Before looking at a career in teaching, Steve also turned out for Leigh RMI.
His performances in Team Bath colours, along with a very healthy goal scoring record for a midfielder, 30 in 80 appearances, had not only helped lift the students to promotion to the Blue Square South, but attracted the attentions of several Football League and BSP clubs.
After spending several weeks training with Wrexham, he did enough to impress manager Dean Saunders and was rewarded with a contract through to the summer of 2010.
