RETURNING to Manchester City for a third time this season, Dean Saunders recruited goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen in March 2009.
The 22-year-old was with Mark Hughes at Blackburn Rovers earlier in his career and only moved to Eastlands in February 2009, as a free agent.
A full international for the Faroe Islands, he made his debut in their victory over Iceland in March 2009, Gunnar inked a two-and-a-half year deal with City following a successful trial at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The 6' 3" tall stopper started in senior football with hometown club HB Torshavn and then switched to Danish side BK Frem Copenhagen, before joining Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2007.
After a season at Ewood Park, he went on loan to Motherwell in the SPL, before canceling his Blackburn contract in January of this year.
"I will try and help Wrexham go forward. I know they are trying to get into the play-offs, but it has not gone well recently so I will just try my best for them," said Gunnar.
"There are nine games left and I will do what I can to help them - I want to do well for Wrexham.
"It will be a good experience and I am really looking forward to it. I am confident in myself and I want to kick on."
With four senior keepers on their books at City, a switch to the Racecourse for the remainder of the season will see Gunnar gain some valuable playing time as the Reds look to give it one last go at reaching the play-offs over the coming weeks.
Already this season, we have taken Sam Williamson and Angelos Tsiaklis on successful loan spells this season from City, with Sam turning his move into a permanent one.
