Brian: It's All About Taking Your Chances
A solitary goal from Chris O'Grady was sufficient to ensure that Rotherham returned home to Yorkshire with all the three points on offer, and condemn the Red Dragons to a second successive home League defeat. This result leaves us a point adrift at the bottom of the League Two table, although three teams are sitting just one point above us.
One of the few highlights of the afternoon for the spectators was the introduction of new Trinidadian signing Silvio Spann in place of Levi Mackin on 68 minutes and he showed some nice touches and had a late header saves by Andy Warrington in the visitors goal.
Following a disappointing afternoon, manager Brian Carey was downbeat as he faced the press: "When our chances came along we didn't take them, but they took the one that they had.
"We had numerous chances before they scored but it is all about taking your chances isn't it?
"It took us a while to get going, and one or two started to get a bit edgy which is a bit of a shame.
"I said to the lads to just get on with it and do what you want too and play your own game. Don't worry about what other people are thinking just get on with your own game.
"People can get frustrated and agitated, sometimes the crowd gets on players backs and that doesn't help. I know that everybody is frustrated at the moment, none more so than myself and the players.
"It did take us a while to get going, we had a couple of chances first half and if you score that changes the whole game but we didn't get it.
"You've got to give Rotherham credit for the type of game that they created. I've seen them numerous times, and I know what they are capable of and what they actually do to you.
"It was hard to get the ball down and try to pass it as we can sometimes, but having said that we kind of fell into their trap a little bit too much and we didn't put our foot on the ball as much as we could have.
"Silvio did when he came on, and the chances that we had in the second half would have made a difference, but I am bitterly disappointed.
"The league table doesn't make nice reading at the moment and it is a very difficult time for us. As I said last year though, you do one or two things; you either go home and stick your head under the pillow or you get on with it.
"We are having a bit of a rough time at the minute but we will ride it out."
