Brian: It's All About Results
TALKING after the final whistle at Edgeley Park, manager Brian Carey was in no mood to accept mitigating circumstances for his latest setback:
"While this was a good display, I'm passed talking about performances. This is a results business and we have lost again - it's as simple as that!
"We can hide away from the facts and talk about incidents during the game - but we have lost again.
"At least we took the lead, but then we gave it away all too easily very quickly afterwards.
"We were under a bit a pressure early on, but you would expect that coming here and playing a decent side.
"But you can't give away goals as we did, and the first one was particularly annoying - we have to do better.
"I was though pleased with a number of the lads coming in, Mark Jones and Neil Taylor in particular.
"We said the lads who have come in for the last few games, 'go out there and keep the shirt'.
"That goes for people like Mike Carvill and we did have a number of decent performances this afternoon.
"It was unfortunate that we lost Silvio at half time and we have been unlucky like that, but at the end of the game it's all down to results - and we didn't get the one we wanted today.
"This club does not deserve to be bottom of the league, and there is pressure on both me and the players because of where we are in the table.
"I have no problem with that directly and I hope that with two home games coming, we can start to improve our position."
