AFTER a stunning turn-around in injury time Brian Carey was frustrated with the impact Robbie Garrett's red card has had on the match at Macclesfield.

"I thought the game was dead and we were  comfortable, dealing with everything they threw at us," he said.

"The sending off totally changed the nature of the game.  Robbie was trying to get out of the clutches of the goalkeeper who grabbed onto him and wouldn't let him go.  The referee books Robbie and I can't believe that we've played against Macclesfield and again I'm talking about a referee.

"Robbie was very hard done by.  There was a collision and he's trying to get away from the keeper, but he's got hold of him and he couldn't run away.  But the referee's done what he's done and we've lost the game.

"There's a player raised his hands and grabbed hold of Robbie.  The moment you raise your hands you're in trouble.  Okay, the keeper got booked, but Robbie's got a second yellow card and why we don't know.

"Robbie's disappointed he was set off and he can't understand why the decision was made.

"We pushed on again today and got a couple of goals; the game plan was working perfectly.  We've dealt with everything they've thrown at us.

"You can't legislate for what happened today with us going down to ten men and giving them the impetus.  They'd gone quiet themselves and didn't know where the goal was going to come from - until they were given a helping hand."
