IT was a naturally delighted squad of players who headed for the dressing rooms at Gigg Lane after a talking ot his men, Brian Little had a few words for the waiting press corps:

"To come here and get this result is great for us, especially after two hard fought draws," he said.

"In the end they had to be direct and throw big fellas in there to try and win the game - and credit to them for trying.

"But overall I thought we limited their chances. There were a few little crmbles around the box, but we showed we wanted to defend,

"Then as the game opened out towards the end I thought we might have sneaked another one.

"To have hung on is great, as we said at half time that 1-0 is probably the hardest scoreline to win with, so you really have to believe in yourselves - especially in the last 10 minutes or so.

"You don't have to do anything silly.

"We talked to them after Saturday's game and said we would like to be a bit more forward going, and I thought we were a little more expansive this evening."
