IT was a disappointed Brian Little who left the glare of the Setanta cameras to reflect on tonight's defeat at York City:

"They were better than us early doors and we were having a problem with their extra midfielder, so for the next 15 minutes we just matched them up," he said.

"That settled things down a bit and we had a couple of half chances ourselves.

"I was pleased to get in at 0-0 by half time, then I think we did as much as we needed to do to have kept it at 0-0. But in fairness we needed to do a little bit more.

"I just felt there was a period inthe second half that if anyone was going to score then it would be us, but we went and gave away a bad goal from a corner.

"There didn't seem to be a road back after that. We looked a little bit scrappy towards the end, trying things just for the heck of it.

"It's been a hard night, because I think they are a decent side. They are strong and I don't think they will lose too many games, but I thought we did match them.

"A point would have been a good result here and I'm disappointed we haven't achieved that. Because to concede from a corner with what we have in the team, I think we should have defended that better.

"Gavin has had to pull off a couple of saves, more so when they got near the lead, but before that we looked like we might just sneak it.

"In games like this and against teams like this, whichever way that first goal had gone it was going to be important. As both sides could have packed out their defence and made themselves difficult to beat.

"Nat [Brown] going off just changed us a little bit, not that Evo [Steve Evans] was at fault. It just disappointing, as a point here today would have been a good one.

"Most teams will find it difficult here, as York are a powerful and strong - a decent side.

"When you come and play them on their home ground, then they are not gong to given in very easily, as we didn't on Saturday.

"In fairness we had done okay tonight, but okay is not quite good enough, but their were periods in the second half, after the first 20 minutes, when the game could have gone either. Credit to them though.

"Their goalscorer [Mark Greaves] was one of my old players, who is a decent player and done well here. He's one dangerous at set pieces and when I saw him here, I thought he might do something and you just can't avoid to lose people like him in the box.

"We have no time to sulk and we won't be doing that. We have been kicked in the teeth or kicked in the backside, whichever way you want to look at it. But that will happen in this business and that will happen in this league.

"If anyone thinks we are going to go out and win every game, then they are wrong. We have played one of the better sides tonight and a draw would have been a good point.

"But we have three points from one of the other better sides and now we look forward to Sunday to put things right."
