REDS boss Brian Little was in reflective mood following our first home defeat of the season, when Burton Albion took their chance and worked hard to hang into their slender advantage.

"It was self inflicted tonight and I can't remember Gavin having a save to make," he said.

"We have hit the bar a couple of times and had a good headed chance, but all in all I think the goal gave them the belief to settle down and in all fairness they kept the ball very well.

"I'm disappointed that we have lost the game, because I don't think we deserved to.

"It was a terrible mistake on our part to have lost it on, but that just shows you, against the sides that I look upon as being the better ones, you give them a goal start and they can hang on in there.

"They keep the ball and frustrate you, which they did well. Credit to them for taking their time when they needed to take their time, keeping the ball when they needed to, and they always seemed to have an out ball.

"I don't think we pressed them well enough tonight, but having said that I still think we should have scored.

"We have a couple of really good chances, which we have missed, and been unlucky on another couple of occasions.

"It's been a hard night's work and it would be easy to say we haven't played well, and we haven't played great, but I think the goal gave them a big help.

"We never got flowing because of that, and had one of those chances gone in for us, then I think in all fairness it could have changed everything."
