DESPITE scoring three goals away from home, the boss was still not totally happy with the afternoon at Altrincham.

"I thought we played well, but how many open goals did we miss and Wes crashing one onto the bar," said Dean.

"At the end, even though we were 3-0 up, I didn't feel 100% safe."

There had been some talk of the game not going ahead and a late pitch inspection.

"We got a call to say the referee was not totally happy owth the surface, but that he had decided it was good enough to go ahead," he said.

"Before the game I had a walk onto the grass and it was very hard in front of the main stand, so I wasn't too happy about the decision - but now I'm glad it went on!

"My biggest disappointment today, was that we should have had another cleansheet.

"We have though scored three goals, Mangan has scored one and made one, plus a good finish from Wes.

"I was also pleased that Mark Jones has scored one with his left foot.

"We had those chances to go 4-0 up, but didn't and football has a habit of coming back an biting you.

"We gave away that penalty and then Sam Russell has tipped another effort onto the crossbar.

"I thought it was going ot be one of them when they scored three goals in five minutes."

The combnation of Andy Mangan and Wes Baynes looked quite promising up front, was that something which had been worked on in training?

"Altrincham changed from their usual formation of three at the back and I thought they were getting a little too much of the ball in midfield," he said.

"So I switched Wes up front to see if we could stop that further up the park. It would also give Christian and Flemo more room as a two-on-two in midfield.

"That was what we did and managed to score a second goal before half time.

"So it was good to be able to go into the dressing room afterwards and say well - and we weren't going to the wire hanging on."

The downside of the day was the injury to Frank Sinclair in the first half.

"I don't think that the injury was down to the pitch, I think he just pulled his thigh," reported Dean.

"It's a massive blow to us really, as it looks quite bad.

"Not sure how long he's going to be out, but he will miss a lot of games."
