IT was a disappointed Dean Saunders who emerged from the dressing rooms at Priory Lane.

"We just didn't play like I know we can," he said.

"I was worried on the way down, especially as it was a match which we thought we could win.

"Missing Christian Smith has hurt us, especially away from home.

"We didn't start the game very well and conceded a dreadful first goal.

"They have broken away from our corner, Jamie has allowed their big striker to wriggle passed him and hit a hopeful ball into the box, while Silvio has allowed their fella to head it in at the far post.

"We never really got our game going, getting in plenty of crosses, but didn't reallly get on the end of them.

"After the break we have come out and looked better, pressing for a goal. Then the referee has sent off one of their players and we have had enough chances to have won a number of games, with the ball going a cross the face of goal.

"We've hit the woodwork and even when we did get one back, I still thought we could have gone onto win, but we continued to misss our chances."

How did the boss view going behind to a second goal when facing 10-men?

"It was a shambles, but one I've seen in football before," said Dean.

"A pass back to the keeper, who takes a little bit too long to clear and the centre forward has stuck his foot in to get a block, ending up getting a tap in into an empty net.

"Obviously disappointing, but we still have plenty of games left this season to put things right

"It was a bit of a blow today, but we will put it right for Tuesday and try to secure three points against Tamworth before looking to beat Chester on Sunday."
